About the AuctionAce Bot

If you are a site operator and you see AuctionAce/1.0 in your logs, this page explains what it is and how to reach us.

What it does

Auction Ace is a platform for running live sports player auctions. Tournament organisers using our software can look up a player's publicly published statistics from cricket services so those figures appear on the bidding screen.

Every request is initiated by a person — an organiser adding a player, or a user linking their own profile. We do not crawl, we do not spider links, and we do not build a bulk copy of any site. Requests are made one page at a time, only when someone asks for that specific player, and responses are cached to avoid repeat fetches.

Why we identify ourselves

We could send a browser user agent and be indistinguishable from ordinary traffic. We would rather you know who we are, so that if our requests are unwelcome you can tell us and we will stop.

Asking us to stop

Email info@auction-ace.com with your domain and we will add it to our blocklist. We will not ask you to justify the request, and we will confirm once it is done.

You can also block AuctionAce by user agent in your robots.txt or at your edge, and we will honour it.

Data protection

Where the information we retrieve identifies a person, we act as a data controller for it. Our Privacy Policy sets out the sources we retrieve from, and how an individual can ask us to remove information about them.
